Panayiotis Giannarapis was born
in London, Ontario, Canada from migrant parents, who hail from
Athens, Greece. He began his musical studies at the age of 8,
studying the accordion, and western music theory at the Ontario
Conservatory of Music with various instructors. Then he proceeded to
study the Greek Bouzouki, and Greek music theory, guitar (of various
styles) and is currently studying the Oud and Arabic music theory.
He guest lectures at the University of Western Ontario’s
Ethnomusicology course. He has worked with the U.W.O Dance Company
and has performed at various events around the Southwestern Ontario
region. He is currently in an Ensemble with Sina Khosravi Called
“The Light of East”.
